To purchase a share, you need to fill out either or both an EQUITY and ORDINARY Shareholder Application form. Now that we are co-operative, there are two types of shares – ordinary and equity. Only the ordinary shareholders have a vote at the AGM (ie they are cooperative members) Equity shareholders no longer have a vote except at equity Shareholders meeting (ie when sharing out of dividends occurs) A person can only hold one £1 ordinary share but any number of equity shares. You can have either type or both types of shares. To become a Director, you need to fill out the Director Application form, and read some of the background. |
